In our Art Gallery we have the pleasure of sharing with you the works of one of the most famous local artists,
Tanja Góngora Borchers. Born in Gottingen, Germany in 1966, she later moved to Costa Rica where her grandfather cultivated her puerile imagination with his colorful chronicles of Russian folklore, epic tales and fables full of a candid sentimentalism and rich in graphic descriptions which made the idyllic and surreal ambience they portrayed come to life.  

The rich literary genre descriptive of regional customs of local short-story writers such as Carmen Lyra and Carlos Luis Sáenz, also contributed to her artistic growth and development.
